About Jil

My approach incorporates core values of kindness and compassion, belief in the goodness of each individual, the reality of suffering and the belief that suffering can be alleviated.  I believe we can be empowered to make changes in order to live our lives to the fullest.  I believe change is possible and begins with an acceptance of our lives and ourselves with compassion, and develops with increased understanding and insight into an awareness of our strengths, growth, and challenges.  Finally, I believe the way to empower ourselves is to pay attention to our bodies, minds, hearts, and relationships as we find ways to balance these and integrate our strengths.

My professional background has included at least a part time private practice working with children, families, and adults since 1987.  Currently, I see teens, young adults and adults.  In addition, I have been a faculty member, either as adjunct or core faculty, at various graduate programs in Counseling Psychology and Clinical Psychology since 1987.  Most recently, I am core faculty for the Clinical Psychology Program at Augsburg University. In addition, I have expertise in such specialty areas as EMDR, mindfulness and psychotherapy, Collaborative/Therapeutic  Assessment, and integrative therapy with an emphasis on resiliency.

My current private practice locationis with Partners in Resilience, 1409 Willow Street, Suite #400, Minneapolis, MN 55403.  You are welcome to reach out to me via email (This email address is being protected from spambots.
